A Day in the Life of This Role

The Certified Lifeguard will ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for our children and team members in an aquatic environment by maintaining safe swimming conditions in the pool, deck, and surrounding areas.
  • Monitoring and Observation: Vigilantly observe swimmers and water users, looking for signs of distress or unsafe behavior.
  • Accident Prevention and Rule Enforcement:
    • Identify hazards and take appropriate actions to remedy them
    • Ensure that water users follow all safety rules and regulations.
  • Emergency Response:
    • Respond quickly, efficiently, and appropriately to emergencies, including performing rescues, administering first aid, and providing CPR.
    • First Aid and CPR: Providing initial medical assistance to injured individuals, including administering first aid and CPR when necessary.
    • Rescue Techniques: Performing water rescues using appropriate techniques and equipment.
  • Communication and Supervision: Communicate with water users and Right At School team members,  providing guidance on water safety and supervising activities within the facility.
  • Reporting: Document incidents, provide reports to management as needed, and report safety concerns promptly.
Position Requirements
  • Certified lifeguard through a recognized organization (Red Cross, YMCA, Lifeguard-Pro, National Aquatic Safety Company, etc.)
  • Current CPR/First Aid/AED certifications.
  • Strong swimming skills and physical fitness.
  • Ability to react quickly and effectively in emergencies.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • 18 years of age or older
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 1 year of lifeguard experience.
  • Stand, sit, stoop, kneel, walk, or move for prolonged periods throughout the day.
  • Your reliability and punctuality are critical to the safety and enjoyment of our kiddos.

Compensation: $17  -  $20   based on prior experience, education, and credentials
